I don't know about Australia, but in the US they generally live to be 8 (if they don't get cancer, insulnomia, etc which ferrets are extremely prone to). In the UK they generally live longer and we don't really know why. Many people attribute the longer lifespan in the UK due to their later spaying/neutering and the raw fed diet which most ferrets eat over there. I've known some ferrets that have lived to be 14.

i got my first ferret griffon at the pet store but we are planning to get one from my grand mother's friend's son because he dosent want them and his mother died so he is giving them to us (3 ferrets)

I totally agree with you Kewilove95. Adoption should always be the first option. A lot of those ferrets are so sweet and deserve to be loved. ferrets are a lot of work but they're WELL worth it.

Ferrets sleep aprox 18 hours a day, and adjust their sleeping times to when the owners are away- If nobody is in the house; They go to sleep. Or steal things, if their cage is open.

omg they're adorable!!!!!! i have 11 ferrets. just so you no ferrets are a lot of work so if u cant donate almost all your time to them please dont get a ferret. and if you do have enough time; babies are $100 each but you should also look in to adopting ferrets because a lot of people get ferrets not knowing they are a lot of work so they get ride of them. so they needs homes to. 10 of my ferrets were adopted.
