I'm preparing this piece for a recital right now and listened in for some insight. I LOVE the way you fling the arpeggios near the end of the B section. I've always found that difficult to do tastefully, but you do it nicely.

Nice. I just realised that this piece can be made in to a never ending loop. And i realise that she uploaded her own video. wow. she's cool. :D

First time I play through, I just play it like it is, second time I bring out a few of the chords more, bring out the top note more. On the second repeat, I put in a bit more ritardando towards the end, etc. First time through each is just how it's written, second is much more Romantic.

i agree, too much rubato, but i do admire the way she is being bold enough to make a very individual interpetation, and technique is first rate

dear xenobli,if you are learning this ,may i suggest to find a recording by "Radu LUPU"! i like his brahms best.regards.

When you do the repeats in the B Major section, how do you diversify your sound? Do you revoice?
khoreno on 2008, 03, 21

Oops my bad, my piano teacher has me get a lot of Schirmer. Yeah, I have the Henle Urtext, and now that I look at it for the first time in a month or so, there IS a repeat there, although I've never played it. I've only ever played the repeat in the middle section.

Schirmer Urtext? LOL I think that you have the Gebhard edition published by Schirmer. Check measure 29 (right before the d minor section) in the Henle Urtext. Schirmer doesn't have "urtext". It was publishers like Schirmer that created the need of urtext.
